Welcome to the Chede International Development Network
The Chede international development network works to boost food and
agricultural production in Africa, lift villagers out of endemic
poverty and promote village-sensitive development approaches in Africa
by upgrading farming technologies, supporting food processing and
regional and international trade in food and agricultural commodities.
Chede Cooperative Union (CHEDE-CAMEROON) has completed a major report for the Cameroon Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the international fair-trade movement and the prospects for farmer organizations in Cameroon.
Building on Chede Partnership Agreements with the Cameroon Institute for Agricultural Research for Development (IRAD), the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, and the World Vegetable Center, the Chede Agric Project in Muambong, Cameroon, has become a premier testing site for some of the world’s best research products emanating from local and international agricultural research institutions.
Chede Muambong Farmers Cooperative Society Ltd (CHEDE-MUAFCOOP) is actively preparing for the upcoming coffee campaign season which is likely to see a bumper crop. About 500 tonnes of Robusta coffee will be available for direct export.
Uplands Agricultural Cooperative Society Ltd is expanding its cocoa nursery by adding over ten thousand cocoa seedlings. Cooperative members have planted over the past five years or so over 100,000 cocoa trees.
